Priority

Like the cracking surface

Of a parched desert

My heart is going dry

And the body’s getting hurt

Hours have become days

While I wonder why

Words from her mouth

Have gone completely dry

From hours a day

To no talk for a week

My soul is stirring hard

“She” is all I seek

Times have changed

And her priorities evolved

Was I just “a stop in the gap”

Remains the mystery unsolved
